How I Play Fantasy Golf Every Week

How I Play Fantasy Golf

How I Play Fantasy Golf

I’m officially hooked on fantasy golf. I play it every week and it is the most fun style fantasy game that I play right now. Here is what I do.

First, by Monday evening each week, DraftKings has their weekly PGA fantasy contests listed. I go ahead and reserve my seats into the contests I want using the reserve seat function. Essentially what this does is it allows you to enter an un-drafted team and go in and edit it later. It reserves your seat. I do this because I do not want to miss out on the larger GPP tournaments or the single entry tournaments. These tournaments do fill up so I just want to make sure I have my seat.

I play fantasy golf at DraftKings and DraftStreet – My favorite fantasy golf sites. Here is exactly how I do it.

First I Join The Contests I Want To Play at DraftKings

Here is a typical series of contests I join.

I have reserved my spot in the contest but still need to draft a team.

I love playing fantasy golf at DraftKings and it is actually where I began. You draft 6 golfers under a salary cap. They score points based on how they perform on each hole and overall in the tournament. It’s awesome. You can learn more about playing fantasy golf here if you want.

Once I have joined all the contests I want to play, I start working on creating my lineup. I play mostly at DraftKings so I pretty much focus my research on players that offer good value for the DraftKings salary.

Create My Lineup(s)

Line-Ups are simple to manage.

Now I really set to work researching my golfers. While there is no magic formula I follow, I essentially look for value. I want players who are going to make the cut. I want players who score a lot of birdies and I want to pick the winner. Now that is way easier said than done.

To do this on DraftKings all you have to do is click on the My Lineups tab at the top, then click the create a new lineup, select the sport you creating the line-up for and then you can start picking players for your team.

Once your team is put together you can either create another lineup or enter that line-up into contests.

Import My Line-Up Into The Contests I’ve Reserved

Now I go through the contests I have entered and select the line-up I want to use. Just click on My Contests tab and then click on the red ‘Draft Team’ button. Then click ‘Import’ and select the one you want. It’s simple and easy. Confirm it and your team is now drafted for this contest.

I do this for all the contests and then I’m set. Any changes are made from the ‘My Line-Ups’ tab and they are changed for all my entries using that line-up. It’s awesome and makes for very easy management of multiple line-ups in multiple contests.

Done at DraftKings – Now To DraftStreet

Pick’Em Style At DraftStreet

Ok, so now I move on to DraftStreet where they offer something a bit different than DraftKings.

They offer a “Pick’Em’ style contest. This works differently than the salary cap at DraftKings. I join a few of the smaller buy-in pick-em contests and fairly quickly pick my teams. I have already done the research on the players so I have a pretty good idea of who I am going to pick.

Do you want to play? Join Me This Week!

Contests begin as soon as the first golfer tee’s off. Which is usually very early on Thursday mornings. I recommend setting your teams before you go to bed on Wednesday evening.

You can play weekly fantasy golf this weekend. Just join DraftKings and DraftStreet and you can get in the game with me. Contests start as little as $0.25 and scale up from there to usually a $200 entry for the big guaranteed tournament for that week.
